There is a small group of houses in the local vicinity of Cercetola which have permanent residents.

Firenzuola is 14km away and has three banks, a supermarket, five doctors and a medical centre which is served by a 24 hour doctor, ambulances and access to a helicopter ambulance. A wide variety of shops and restaurants and a hotel and has a market every Monday. There is a school which provides from nursery school through to senior school. A library and the town hall are also here as well as the Caribiniere.

Castel del Rio is 7km away and has a range of shops.

Imola is thirty minutes drive  and has a complete range of facilities, shops, banks, offices, theatres, galleries and a railway station with connection to mainlines all over Italy and Europe.

Florence and Bologna are approximately an hour and a quarter away in either direction and can easily be reached by public transport. Bolgna Airport has direct flights daily to London and other European desitinations.

Pisa airport is two and a half hours away from the house.
